The basics:
Haiku is simple! It is 3 non-rhyming lines of 5, 7, and 5 syllables respectively (a great way to use your fingers!)

THOM i was at the airport last sunday and had nothing else to do while waiting for boarding time. then i suddenly remembered jenn's haiku theme for this week. as soon as i started i couldn't stop writing poems (so happy i brought my journal with me). it gave me a good feeling.

Hooray! I learned a new word today! That always makes me smile...and oh yeah, I grew up in the Disco generation. Love your haiku!
