My Gratitude List

The Gratitude Meme

1. What are you most grateful for when you first wake up in the morning?

each morning, i am most grateful of the opportunity to appreciate the morning sun, embrace life and face a new beginning.

2. What are you most grateful for when you go to bed at night?

i am most grateful of the opportunity to rest after a good day's work.

3. Who is the person who has had the most influence on your life?

he is the greatest!!!

4. Is there someone you'd like to thank for something special they did for you but haven't yet? Take the time to do it in this meme.
i thank you for bringing back the sun to shine in my  life again...

5. Who was your favorite or least favorite teacher?
If you could talk to them now, what would you say?

my class adviser in first year high school was my first mentor. she was the first person who believed in me and pushed me to reach my potentials. she made me believe in myself.

may your soul rest in peace, Mrs. Trinita Ranada. thank you for showing me  the way.

6. Do you say grace at mealtime?

when i'm eating with my kids, the youngest always leads the prayer.

7. Name one thing you take for granted everyday.

i'm not saying...

8. Have you ever looked back at your life and realized that something you thought was a bad thing was actually a blessing in disguise?

when i lost my husband five years ago, i thought that was the end of the world. on the contrary, that was the beginning of my life. slowly, i was able to find myself again and learned to bounce back from the deep abyss i was trapped in. best of all, i became a real mom to my three kids for the first time in their young lives. i would never have found out i am this strong if not for that unfortunate tragedy in my life.

9. What are the top five things you are most grateful for in your life?

i wrote four of them in this post.

and here's the fifth-

i feel so blessed to have been given the chance to love and be loved again.
after all, not everyone gets a second chance in life.

Mimi Pencil Skirt aka Queen of Memes has this to say for this weeks' meme:

"Sometimes life hands you pomegranates. You get wiser. Sometimes life hands you that icky lemonade. You get stickier. Sometimes life hands you a boatload of people who either enhance your journey in lovely ways or rock the boat off course just for the hell of it. You get an oar and row in your own direction. It happens to all of us. Either way, there's gratitude to be found if you're willing to look. Sometimes the conflicts are indeed blessings in disguise - you just don't know it yet. Sometimes the storm IS the thing you will one day bless while you wait for calmer seas. Maybe not today, but someday. So find some patience and hang on. We all have something to be grateful for one way or another. I found a few things this week. I hope you did too."

A Clever Girl's Idea

When I first read of Jen's post at dust bunny hostage about wanting to celebrate Positive Day on July 31, my first reaction was "count me in!" This was actually her 12-year-old Diva Daughter's idea. Here's what she said:

"My little Diva Daughter read a review in the Wall Street Journal about the latest Harry Potter movie. It was not positive and she was disappointed. She gave a lengthy monologue about the negative things she had read. I walked her over to the computer, clicked New Post on my blog, and told her to "have at it". She looked one part shocked, and one part happy to voice her opinion (you can find that post HERE).

When she was verbally sharing her opinion, she told me when she becomes president in 2032, she will instate Positive Day. She claimed it will be a day for people to think about the things they are thankful for and to share the things that make them happy. She also wrote about Positive Day in her post.

This is part of the comment Travis left for Diva Daughter:

"Now as to Positive Day, why wait? Pick a day and let us know what it is. We can make a blog badge and have Positive Day in the Bloggosphere!"

When she read it, her eyes lit up and she giggled - I could tell that she REALLY liked the idea of Positive Day being celebrated in the Bloggosphere. In her words "Oh yeah! Let's do it!"

And Positive Day was born from the mind of a twelve year old girl."

The concept is for everyone to share the things in their lives that are positive. She urged us to count our blessings and to "CHOOSE to accentuate the positive, eliminate the negative."

So in keeping with my commitment to join this crusade, I posted all the things I am grateful of in my main blog, OF LIVING AND LOVING... AND COPING.

How about you? Have you counted your blessings today? Believe me, it makes a whole lot of difference in your life or at least in your attitude. It won't hurt to smile as you recall all the good things that came your way.

Thanks to Mike of Rambling Stuff for leading me to Jen's site.mltan100.blogspot.com

It's A Major Award

My friend Kat of Soy Wax Candles Blog and Candles Crafts and Whatnot has given me another award and it is called a "Major Award."

Kat is one of the very good friends I met here in the blogging world. We hit it off right away like kindred spirits. And even if we don't get to chat often anymore, I know she still checks on me and makes her presence felt all the time which I truly appreciate. A real friend indeed.mltan100.blogspot.commltan100.blogspot.commltan100.blogspot.com

Since my friend can't remember the rules for this award, she made up her own [that is soooooo Katmltan100.blogspot.com ]. This is what she said :

"But I love it!! So Much!!! I laughed out loud when I received it, because I have such fond memories of this movie!! I even listed it in my top 10 funniest movies over at Candles, Crafts and Whatnot.

Who can forget when it came "Fra-gee-ly" LOL
There were so many good moments in the movie A Christmas Story, but the lamp was the highlight (no pun intended).

So, thank you to whoever the wonderful person was that gave me this, I am sorry I can't link to you. If you are out there, let me know and I will definitely edit this post!!

Seeing as though I don't remember the rules or anything...I am making my own up!! LOL"

This award is for anyone who likes to smile and/or laugh, and just generally spreads that along in this blogging world we all travel in. (sounds good, right?)"

With that in mind, I would like to pass on this award to the following bloggers who never fail to make me smile, laugh or feel good:

Mike of Rambling Stuff

Wenny of Inside My Bubble Today

Thom of Thom's Place for Well Whatever...

Mimi Lenox a.k.a. The Queen of Memes of The Queen's Meme

Mouse of Mouse's House

Cathy (LadyHighTower) of Psychic Mama

Although Sandee of Comedy Plus and Janet of Dolly's Daily Diary are also Kat's awardees, I still want to pass this on to them.
